THE Incentives and Conventions Association (TICA) elected a new board of directors at its annual general meeting last week.
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor, Ms Juthamas Siriwan, was reappointed as president, while TAT deputy governor international marketing, Ms Phornsiri Manoharn, replaces Thai Airways International executive vice president commercial, Mr Vasing Kittikul, as TICA first vice president.
Among hotel operators serving on the new board, Dusit Laguna Resort Phuket director sales and marketing, Mr Andrew Cornelio, will join veteran members Intercontinental Hotel Bangkok director marketing, Mr Bobby Ong, and Royal Cliff Beach Resort director marketing and sales, Mr David Holden.
Convention centre operators on the board include NCC Management and Development executive vice president, Ms Vanida Tulalamba and BITEC managing director, Dr Prasarn Bhiraj Buri.
TICA executive director, Mr Manoon Kalapat, said TICA's role would now be to serve as a private sector partner to the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau and TAT. “In addition to other activities we will be working together this year to promote Thailand's MICE industry on road shows to Bangalore and Mumbai on May 17 to 19, Beijing in June, Seoul in July, and several Japanese cities in August,” he said.
