Bangkok  (2007-01-10)

JET Airways will start daily direct flights from Bangkok to Delhi and Kolkata from January 23.

Chairman, Mr Naresh Goyal, said Thailand was the 50th destination on its network and the third in South-east, after Singapore and Malaysia.

The Mumbai-based carrier will initially operate Boeing 737-800s on the Bangkok routes but plans to eventually upgrade to Airbus 330-200s.

The airline also intends to add eight Boeing 777 ER and five A330-200s to its 58-plane fleet this year, in line with its aggressive worldwide route expansion strategy.
