THE new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, 30km from Hyderabad, began operations early on 23 March.
The US$617 million airport can handle 12 million passengers per annum.
The new airport is accessible via a national highway and a state highway.
Currently 11 international airlines and 10 domestic airlines have scheduled flights to Hyderabad.
Hyderabad received 58,65131 passengers from April 2007-January 2008.
