THAI adjusts winter flight schedule

THAI Airways International has adjusted the winter domestic and international flight schedule, from now to March 28 next year.

The adjustment saw Thailand's flag carrier increased frequencies on six international routes and cut frequencies of four medium- and longhaul routes.

Flights on the Bangkok-Moscow route and Bangkok-Ho Chi Minh City route have been increased from three to four flights per week and from 18 to 19 flights per week respectively. Twice-weekly flights on the Bangkok-Bodhagaya-Varanasi-Bangkok route has been doubled to four flights per week.

Flights on the Bangkok-Kathmandu and Bangkok-Mumbai routes have been increased from daily to 10 flights per week.

The Bangkok-Manila route, from five flights per week, becomes a daily flight from October 26 to January 31, 2009 and will subsequently become nine flights per week from February 1, 2009.

Facing flight reduction are the Bangkok-Athens route, from four to three flights per week and Bangkok-Auckland route, from five to four flights per week. From February 1, 2009, the Bangkok-Manila-Osaka and Bangkok-Osaka routes also face reduction from daily flight to five flights per week and from a double-daily flight to 12 flights per week respectively.

On the domestic route, THAI has launched a new thrice-weekly Chiang Mai-Krabi flight and increased the Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son service from 14 to 21 flights per week.
