UAE low-cost carrier Air Arabia will start daily flights between Mumbai and Sharjah from second week of March 2005.

It will fly an Airbus A320 with 150 all-economy seats with a 34-inch pitch and food will be on sale onboard.

Air Arabia commercial and business development analyst, Mr Rohit Ramachandran, told TTG Daily News: “Our fares will be 40 per cent less than any of our competitors on the same route at any given time. Travel agents will be one of our prime sources of distribution and we will adhere to prevailing commission rates in the market.”

Mumbai is the 16th point of operation for Air Arabia, which is interested in starting flights to Kochi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi once it gets permission from the Indian government.
