SIA plans Bali roadshows for German hubs

SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) is supporting Bali Village to organise a roadshow in three major German cities in March.

The roadshows taking place in Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Hamburg are part of the trade's efforts for Bali's recovery which the airline has been supporting.

SIA general manager Indonesia, Mr Hew Chuen Chiet, said: "We are working together with the government and the travel industry to regain travellers' trust to the destination and put Bali back on the tourism map."

The roadshow is part of a series of SIA programmes assisting Bali's recovery since December last year, which also includes familiarisation trips for both travel agents and media.

Between January and May, SIA is inviting agents from France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Switzerland, South Africa and China to Bali.

"Their visits are expected to promote Bali tourism and support in achieving the six million targeted tourist arrivals to Indonesia this year," Mr Hew said.

SIA offices overseas also support Bali's recovery. Its Denmark office works together with local agents who sell tickets to Bali to place ads in the local media. SIA Scandinavia will bring a TV crew to film Bali, and SIA Germany does many promotions in the local TV station.

SIA also has the Bali Super Holiday package offered since November last year.
