VISITORS from 11 more countries can now apply for visa on arrival (VoA) when they visit Indonesia.

Travellers from Algeria, Czech Republic, Fiji, Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Panama, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Tunisia are eligible for a seven-day visa costing US$10 or 30-day visa costing US$25 upon arrival at designated Indonesian air and sea gateways.

Sixty-three countries are now eligible for the VoA facility.

Minister of culture and tourism, Mr Jero Wacik, said: "This addition has been approved by the related government offices in March, but it takes into effect only on May 28."

Mr Wacik said his office had submitted more countries for VoA, but he declined to mention which.

TTG Asia Daily News noted that apart from these 11 countries, the tourism authority had also submitted VoA proposals for the Bahamas, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Paraguay, Syria, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela and Jordan last January.
