HONG Kong International Airport (HKIA) has hit a record high for flight movements during the Easter holidays. There were 906 and 945 flight movements on Thursday (March 20) and Friday (March 21) respectively.

The latest record of 945 flight movements well exceeded the daily average of 810 movements by 16.7 per cent.

Based on government information, most of the extra flights operated by airlines were to destinations in North-east Asia, Mainland China and South-east Asia. Taipei was the most popular destination, followed by Fukushima and Okinawa in Japan.
