Singapore GP to appoint sole ticketing manager
Karen Yue, Singapore (2009-02-16)

SINGAPORE Grand Prix, the official race promoter for the Singapore leg of the F1 race, will streamline its ticketing channel for the trade this year.
A single ticketing manager will be appointed to liaise directly with all travel agents who hold a minimum inventory of 15 grandstand tickets for group bookings.

This is different from last year when a main ticketing vendor was appointed to work with travel agents who have small to medium-sized inventory requirements, while those with larger inventory requirements went directly to Singapore GP.

Singapore GP will also appoint exclusive travel agents in specific countries or perhaps one to three travel agents here to represent specific territories.

A Singapore GP spokesman told TTG Daily News the team had approached selected travel agents who had sold a substantial inventory in 2008 for a renewal of partnership this year.

She said: “To date, over 70 per cent of travel agents have reverted with their advertising and promotion plans for our consideration. We have also received registrations of interest from new parties and are currently reviewing all options. The list (of travel agents) is still under review and will be available via the official Singapore GP website by early-March.”

Official resellers who are able to extend a comprehensive advertising and promotions plan to Singapore GP, reach a suitable client profile and target audience, maintain a minimum inventory of 15 grandstand tickets and have an established presence in their proposed territory will be appointed.
