KOCHI will be India's first international homeport with the launch of MV Aquamarine on December 2.

The 525-cabin luxury cruise liner from Europe's Louis Cruises will operate three-night cruises to the Maldives and Colombo from Kochi port. Cruise prices will start from US$108 per person per night.

Indian nationals will get a visa on arrival at both Sri Lanka and the Maldives, making it simpler for them to take the cruise.

Louise Cruises India managing director and CEO Oneil Khosa said: "Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Kochi are world-class destinations with a host of tourist activities, ranging from beach activities to nightlife, shopping, casinos and great cuisine."

Prior to moving to Kochi, the MV Aquamarine was based in the Mediterranean. It will be homeported in Kochi until April 25, 2010.
