The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has appointed Chennai-based Greyhound Marketing as marketing representative for South India.

Having set up operations in Mumbai in 1993 and appointed a marketing representative in New Delhi to service the North Indian market last year, the STB said this latest appointment was “part of a larger strategy” to intensify marketing activities in India.

Greyhound Marketing which has business interests in hospitality, MICE and integrated marketing solutions, will report to STB"s regional office in Mumbai headed by Mr Vimal Harnal, regional director, south & west Asia for the STB. It will be responsible for identifying ways to increase Singapore"s visibility among the MICE sector of India and court the visitor, friends and relatives sectors.

Marketing activities will focus on promotions with travel wholesalers and retailers as well as familiarisation trips to Singapore for leading travel agents. Each year, Singapore welcomes approximately 340,000 visitors from India.
