Qantas will add flight frequencies between Jakarta and Sydney, increasing from four times to six times a week from October 27.

The airline, however, will change its aircraft type from Boeing 747 to B767, providing the same number of seats per week.

Qantas Indonesia general manager, Mr Geoff Brown, said: “This additional frequency will provide passengers a wider choice of dates to travel. We are looking at going back to daily services in the near future.”

Mr Brown declined to reveal the average load factors on the Indonesian operation, but said the Sydney route was the “most popular”, and Jakarta-Perth was “strong”. Qantas had also been considering adding flight frequencies on this route
