STAR Cruises' SuperStar Virgo embarks on a two-night voyage to Malacca and Kuala Lumpur tonight to mark the launch of its teambuilding programmes customised for cruises.

TTG Asia will join about 60 human resource personnel from MNCs and other media on the cruise. The programmes were floated in partnership with the Singapore Training & Development Association and aim to encourage creativity through “experiential learning”.

Director, marketing communications, Ms Lily Lim, said the company had in the past organised many ad-hoc programs upon clients' requests but because of the growing trend and demand, it decided to come up with packages that it can actively sell to the MICE market. “The program is a fly/cruise product with guests boarding at Singapore. We are selling the program as another activity that MICE visitors coming to Singapore can do.”

The minimum group size for the teambuilding program is 30. Rates differ from country to country depending on airfare, and also include the program and the cruise package. More information can be obtained at any of Star Cruises appointed agents and regional offices. Ms Lim said familiarisation trips would be organised for event planners and destination management companies at a later date.
