Gulf Air tempts agents with dishy incentives

GULF Air has given travel agents more reasons to sell its tickets with a slew of incentives unveiled at its agent appreciation function held last evening.

General manager, Ms Claire Beswick, said: “This is the first time that we are implementing something for each segment of the market, including leisure, business and MICE. Our sales team will be meeting with you to work out what is achievable.”

Goodies include:

  • Travel agent educational travel/trips
  • Attractive industry-only airfares. For example, S$599 (US$354) for a return ticket to London for the industry member, whose partner only pays S$100. The objective is for agents to try the product and give their feedback to the airline.
  • Premium and corporate events to showcase the product
  • Destination marketing to hot new leisure and MICE destinations
  • Working with agents to introduce airfares that are relevant to this market
  • From June 1, there will be a weekly draw for 10 weeks. Top sales agents stand to win S$500 shopping vouchers, weekends at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Singapore, Singapore-Sydney air tickets or Singapore-Gulf air tickets.

    Ms Beswick also said that the sales team at Gulf Air will be meeting up with agents in the coming weeks to explore new destinations in its network that may appeal to the Singapore market.

    Gulf Air expects 33 per cent year-on-year growth this year.
