New Sparks to fly in Jakarta Chinatown

A NEW three-star boutique hotel with 105 rooms and nine suites is to open in Jakarta's Chinatown Jakarta in September.

Located Jakarta's entertainment district of Jalan Mangga Besar Raya, West Jakarta, the property is named Sparks Hotel Jakarta. It is an eight storey building designed by DCM, which designed the Maya Ubud Bali and eX-Entertainment Center of Plaza Indonesia Jakarta. Sparks is being developed as an “entertainment city hotel” with bars and karaoke rooms that can accommodate up to 50 guests.

Meanwhile, in Makassar, South Sulawesi, the Makassar Phinisi Seaside Hotel (MPSH) is building a four-star property with an investment of 250 billion rupiah (US$29.4 million). The hotel will have 340 rooms and a meeting hall with a capacity for 2,000, the biggest in the area. Facilities include four F&B outlets, a helicopter pad and a bowling alley.
