NEW buyers from several emerging markets are expected at this year's Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart to be held at Bangkok's Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on September 22-24.

PATA managing director communications, Mr Ken Scott, said the organisation is trying to draw new faces from fast-growing markets such as South Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

“Currently we're working with TTG Russia to bring some 20 Russian buyers, to be confirmed in June, and a number of buyers were contacted at the Arabian Travel Mart,” said Mr Scott.

A minimum of 20 Indian buyers and a strong contingent from China is also expected. In all, some 102 buyers have confirmed and PATA hopes to attract a total of 300 buyers and 300 sellers this year.
